1. Place the chicken in a shallow dish. In a small bowl whisk together the remaining ingredients except for the apples and pour over the chicken. Turn the chicken to coat evenly and allow to marinate in the fridge for 1 hour. (Alternatively, cut the chicken into chunks before marinating, then thread onto soaked skewers before grilling.)
2. Preheat a grill to medium high. Grill the chicken on both sides until no longer pink inside and an internal read thermometer reaches 165 degrees F, about 4 minutes per side.
3. During the last 3 or 4 minutes, grill the apple slices to brown and partially cook.
4. Transfer the chicken to a clean plate and arrange the apples around. Serve immediately.
