Will I be hungry on the HCG protocol with just 500 calories?

HCG causes the release of 1500 to 4000 calories into your bloodstream per day (per Dr. Simeons' manuscript). Added to that are the 500 calories you are eating on the Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD), which comes to 2000 to 4500 calories per day your body is using for fuel. If you attempted to lose weight by only eating 500 calories it would backfire because your body was created to survive. It would make your body think that you were living in a famine and it would begin to convert incoming calories to fat to store away for fuel.

What is the difference between a phase and a round on the HCG protocol?

It certainly can get a bit confusing when doing research about the HCG protocol online! A round of the HCG protocol consists of distinct phases (or stages): Loading, Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD), Maintenance 1 (M1), and Maintenance 2 (M2). Different companies and different authors may call these stages by other names – but the concept is the same.  A round is doing all of these phases, in order, one time.

Did Kevin Trudeau create the HCG protocol?

No, he just wrote a book about it.  British endocrinologist Dr. A.T.W. Simeons created the HCG protocol in the 1950s. Dr. Simeons published a manuscript of his findings as well as instructions for medical professionals in the manuscript, “Pounds and Inches.” You can download and read “Pounds and Inches” for free at http://www.ThinNow.com/P&I.pdf .

Are there any age restrictions for the HCG protocol?

We do not recommend or support the HCG Protocol for anyone under the age of 16. We would recommend that you direct your concerns for your child’s weight to your physician. For children ages 16 through 17, we require signed consent from the parent(s) which includes permission for the ThinNow/MyHCGPlus support team to speak directly with the teen.
