If there is a truism that can be said about losing weight, it’s that you’re always just one hunger pang away from disaster. When the desire to eat revs up with fierce intensity, it can be extremely difficult to not undo the results of all of the hard work and effort that you’ve put in with your food and exercise plan in an attempt to drop some pounds.
After all, you can have the best intentions in the world when it comes to eating healthy, but when your stomach sends you a message that it wants food, it’s very easy to throw caution (and your diet) to the wind and make choices that take you further from your goal instead of closer to it. It’s almost as if your body realizes that you’re trying to cut calories so it does everything it can to sabotage your weight loss.
Does this mean that you’ll never lose weight because you will certainly face hunger at some point in your life? No, it just means that you need to find ways to suppress your appetite before it rages like an out of control wildfire and does some major damage to your weight loss progress.
Here are some tips that will take you from feeling hungrier than a bear coming out of hibernation to thinking, “Really? It’s time to eat again?”:
Eat every 2-4 hours. If you are the person who skips breakfast and barely eats lunch, it’s no wonder your appetite is ravenous at dinner time. You’ve deprived your body of food all day so it kicks your longing for calories into high gear in an attempt to get some sustenance. However, if you feed your body every few hours, you won’t face those I’ve-got-to-eat-now hunger pangs that can stop any weight loss progress dead in its tracks.
Increase the amount of protein you eat. Not only are lean proteins very full of vitamins and minerals, but they also satisfy your hunger longer. Choose to eat meals that contain low-fat fish, shellfish, beef, lamb, pork, chicken and eggs to suppress your appetite for hours to come.
Take natural supplements. There are certain natural supplements that you can take that will help you alleviate the hunger that often comes with changing eating patterns in an attempt to lose weight. Two of the best appetite suppressants are African Mango and Garcinia Cambogia. African Mango helps your brain realize when you are full and Garcinia Cambogia not only blocks fat, but it also increases your serotonin levels so that you feel better mentally too.
Stay hydrated. It can be quite easy to confuse hunger signals with thirst signals as they have similar effects, so you can avoid this whole issue by making sure you stay hydrated all of the time. Of course, water is the best beverage to drink but, at a minimum, stay away from sugary drinks as they’ll make you more hungry, not less.
Don’t let your appetite derail your weight loss plans. Try these tips and you’ll not only squash your desire to eat all of the time, but you’ll also likely hit your weight loss goals quicker than you could have ever imagined!
